| My Hardware |
The computer on the left in picture is my own brand with ASUS P/I P65UP5 with CPU-card C-P6ND currently with 2 PPro/200Mhz w. 256 Cache. The RAM is 256Mb. I have 2 AHA2940(U) card's with 3*2 Gbyte disks and one Ultra66 from Promise Technologies with a 4 Gbyte disk attached. The Soundcard is a AWE64 Gold connected to a SSI Surround system. Video card is Matrox Millenium 4Mb (boy it's getting old...) to which I connect a 19" Dell Screen (connected through AdderView which also my other computers are connected to, saves a lot of space on my desktop...). I'm still running Windows NT on it but when next machine arrives it will quickly turn into a Linux (Debian).
The one on the right is my very old Dual P90 own composition:
- ASUS PCI/I-P54NP4D
- 2 Intel Pentium/90 Mhz
- 64 MB Ram
- Adaptec 2940A with 2*1 Gbyte disks
- IDE-CD 8x
- Matrox Mystique 4Mb Ram.
The OS is Debian/GNU Linux:
Update: 2002-10-07
Linux duop5 2.4.19 #3 SMP Thu Aug 15 19:06:09 CEST 2002 i586 unknown
The old Dual P90 is now functioning as my Router/Firewall for the ADSL broadband connection which it does very very well.
Update 2 - 2004-04-14
- The machines are still going strong, both running Debian GNU/Linux OS:es, they are not the fastest machines found on the market any longer but hey! they work :-). There have been minor hardware configuration changes but no major ones, I'm of course running the latest Linux kernels, e.g.
Linux duop6 2.6.5 #3 SMP Thu Apr 8 21:39:47 CEST 2004 i686 GNU/Linux
Both of them are configured as firewall (one as backup) using iptables.

The description above is very old, it's not being removed for historical reasons only
